In 1535, King Henry VIII and Queen Anne Boleyn were on progress and stayed at Thornbury Castle, not far from the Welsh border. The Castle was built by Edward Stafford, a political rival and threat to the throne. Stafford was found guilty of treason, after which Henry took over the castle.
What does this have to do with investing?
Absolutely nothing, other than the fact it’s part of our excuse for not publishing new posts for the next couple of weeks. You could say we’re investing in ourselves, which is something everyone should do.
We’ve taken a couple of weeks off to drive around England and tonight we find ourselves staying in the Henry VIII suite at Thornbury Castle.
A bit of a splurge, but after a few months writing we felt a short break was in order.
